Frequently Asked Questions

We understand that you’ll often have lots of questions regarding your video commission. That’s why we’ve created an easy to access FAQ guide.

If you have a question that's not covered here, please feel free to get in touch.

Do I need to know exactly what I want?

In a nutshell, not at all, we understand that sometimes you’ll have a rough idea of what you want, yet need additional creative input to take your seed idea and work with you to create something amazing!

We’re well practiced in converting what you want to say (your message) to a screen and audience friendly format, so please don’t feel like the onus is on you to “create” – that’s what we’re here for!

How long does the process take?

A simple promotional type video can often be filmed within a day. At Bakehouse we’ve been able to turn projects around in hours, especially when deadlines have been tight and our clients have been eager to expedite the production process.

In all projects, the pre-production elements are often the most time consuming, partly because we’re taking the time to understand you needs and also because you may have a number of key stakeholders to keep up to date on the project.

With all of our projects, we will always endeavour to keep filming on time and work with you to ensure your timescales are strictly adhered to.

How much does a video cost to produce?

It’s difficult to give a “one size fits all” figure, there are many variables at play and each project has its own unique challenges and objectives. Typically projects range between from £1,500 and £10,000.

At Bakehouse, we understand that marketing departments are working within budgets - we'll work with you to create something which fits the brief and the budget.

Can you arrange talented voice overs / actors?

Yes, we always keep a list of talented individuals who have many years’ experience both presenting and providing voice overs for corporate work.

During the pre-production phase, we’ll help you discover the perfect voice artist or presenter to suit your business needs.

How can we ensure our video meets the needs of the business?

This is where Bakehouse can really make a difference, we work to understand your business objectives before we start filming. We have a lot of commercial experience and understand the pain points of successfully communicating important messages. We’re dedicated to ensuring that the objectives are documented and met every step of the way, whether that be to increase sales or to convey a complex message accurately.

In some cases, we are able to trial a video on a small audience to understand exactly how it works in real life. This can have a hugely beneficial effect and often means we can make tweaks to the finished article, ensuring it delivers exactly what you require.

Can I have a video updated?

Yes, and this is quite a common occurrence especially in fast moving sectors like health or social care. We create our videos using digital technology, meaning that we can quickly add, subtract or alter parts of your video to include new information or alter obsolete content.

What about unused content?

We archive projects and can deploy unused footage in your future projects.

Is animated film more expensive?

It depends! It can take a lot of time to produce a really good animated video, we animate simple projects in house and work with extremely talented partners on larger projects.

If you believe your message could be a good candidate for animated footage, it’s always worth discussing this us. As always with Bakehouse, we’ll ensure you get the video you need.
